• 3-5 years retail experience with a strong focus customer service manangement
• 3-5 years management experience
• knowledge, preferably experience in franchise business models
• Good and extensive experience in Telecommunications preferably GSM telecom related business
• Excellent references from reputable members of the community, financial institutions and business/trade associates
• Evidence of good business management experience
• Ability to effectively market business products
• Existing retail premises in a location that has MTN network coverage, in a retail/commercial neighbourhood, on a busy high and/or well-known street where business type markets exist, in one ofthe following local Government Areas:

• Must be a ground floor retail shop or a stand alone building of good
  standard which can be used exclusively as an MTN Connect
• Must be easily convertible to an MTN Connect retail outlet
• Must be approximately 120 sq. meters retail shop space
• Must be able to park a minimum of 6 cars
• Must be easily accessible to motorists and pedestrians
• Be highly visible from within a minimum distance of 500m
• Not within a 5 km radius of an MTN Service Centre or another MTN
  Connect

• Provide a N250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand naira) non--refundable application processing fee
• Pay a non-refundable sign-up fee of N1.5million (One million five hundred thousand naira) in the event that the application to operate an MTN Connect is successful
• Provide a bank guarantee of N5million (five million naira) in the event that the application to operate a MTN Connect is successful
• Provide excellent financial references from reputable major bankers and/or auditors
• Show proof of unencumbered funds to cover the cost of refurbishment,
  other start up costs, working capital and monthly operating expenses
• Provide statement(s) of financial affairs, including bank statements
• Register a special purpose vehicle (SPV) and acquire the appropriate NCC licence in the event that the application to operate MTN Connect is successful

• A resident of Nigeria
• Known to have an excellent personal and business reputation
• An individual with high ethical standards and positive personal values
• Able to adhere to defined practices & procedures

Please be advised that you may only submit one application per Local Government area as previously listed.

All Application Forms and supporting documents must be in a sealed envelope and must be received by 6 p.m on 29th April 2005 and addressed as such:

and sent to any of the MTN Regional Offices. Applications received after the stated date will not be considered.

By submitting an application in response to this publication, all applicants irrevocably accept and agree as follows:

The decision of MTNN on the applications is final

• MTNN reserves the right to reject any or all of the applications on any grounds whatsoever and without any consequences whatsoever.
• MTNN reserves the right to ammend, suspend or cancel the MTN Connect project completely or in part.
• MTNN will only deal with the authorized representative no lesser than a member of the Board of Directors of the applicant company and not through individuals or agents acting on their behalf.
• This application shall not be constructed as a commitment on the part of MTNN, nor shall it entitle prospective companies to mke any claims whatsoever and /or seek any indemnity from MTNN.
• MTNN shall not be liable for any costs associated with completing this application or incurred in any subsequent discussions or negotiations, regardless of whether the application is successful or not.
