FIXED LINE SERVICES

VOICE:
  1. Fixed Voice, Prepaid: MTN provides fixed voice services using the fixed wireless infrastructure. The fixed network coverage is strong in business and residential areas of major commercial cities like Lagos, Abuja and PH. The Prepaid service is predominantly for residential customers who are required to make a payment into their account before utilising the service.
  2. Fixed Voice, Postpaid: MTN provides fixed voice services using the fixed wireless network infrastructure. The fixed network coverage is strong in business areas of major commercial cities like Lagos, Abuja and PH. Integrated into the PABX, this service is enriched with other services like the call Hunt facility which enables customers or clients to reach anyone in the subscriber’s company even if one of them is not around.
  3. E1 (PRI): MTN provides a wireline version of direct connect that allows a customer to have up to 30 voice channels from the Network to their PABX. This is connected via a Primary Rate Interface.
DATA:
  1. Leased Lines/ Links: MTN provides business customers with a facility through which their data can be transmitted between computer and electronic information devices at two or more of the businesses operating areas, sites or branches. Within the service MTNN provides the physical inter-connection of the sites to the MTNN Network, ensures the correct configuration and routing within the Network, management of the terminating devices, health monitoring and status notifications and general day to day operations of the whole network.

    This service is commonly referred to as Data Leased Circuit (Line/ Links): which is essentially a dedicated line/ link from the MTNN Network using a multi service access platform comprising metropolitan fiber access, extensive copper network, microwave, satellite or radio link to the premises of companies that want to build their own communications infrastructure or run data-demanding applications such as data transfers, VOIP or video conferencing.

    MTN Leased circuits offers flexibility of providing local (Metropolitan) and long distance (inter city) circuits with speeds of n x 64kbps (Fractional links) to 2Mbps (E1) for high bandwidth requirements using a variety of media as described below;
    • Satellite: The customer’s bandwidth which is provided from a shared pool can be delivered via V-sat on a shared upstream and downstream basis (Link Star), dedicated upstream and downstream basis (SCPC–SCPC), or dedicated upstream and shared downstream basis (SCPC–DVB)
    • SH DSL (Symetric High Digital Subscriber Line): This is a wire line which can run through either copper or fiber from the customer’s premises onto the MTNN Network.
    • Microwave: (PtP) The customer’s bandwidth is transmitted via microwave frequency from customer’s premises to the MTNN Network
    • Radio Link: (PtmP) The customer’s bandwidth is connected to the Network via a point to multi point broadband radio link
  2. Broadband ADSL: A high capacity bi-directional communications connection to the internet using Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. It is a data communications technology that enables faster, than dial up connection, data transmission over copper lines. It allows subscribers to be on the phone and internet at the same time without tying up the phone line and because Broadband is always on, there’s no waiting around to connect to the internet. This is a shared internet connection line to the customers premises with bandwidth ranging from 64kbps to 2Mbps
  3. Dedicated Internet Sat3: A dedicated Internet connection to the customer’s premises on guaranteed bandwidth.

 GSM VOICE:
  1. XtraValue: A wireless voice package that offers cost effective tariffs for voice calls and SMS. This product comes in monthly access charge variants of 1300, 800, 600 and zero access to satisfy business needs. The XtraValue offers other Network value added services such as:
    • Conference calling
    • International calling
    • International Roaming
    • Recharge A Contract
    • eCare
    • Voicemail

  2. Toll Free: This service gives customers the opportunity of calling a corporate or business organisation free -of-charge by dialling an MTN toll free number. The organisation will be charged for their customer’s call based on usage. In other words, the business bears all the traffic charges on behalf of the callers.

    By bearing the cost of incoming calls, potential customers are given a powerful incentive to call the organisation. Ultimately the cost of these calls would be made up for from the increased volume of business attracted. Therefore, corporate and Mid-Sized businesses can use toll free numbers in connection with their sales and marketing efforts.
  3. MVPN –BizCom: My Colleagues is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) Postpaid tariff plan being introduced in the Corporate and SME market. VPN is a mobile telephony service which enables a corporate client register multiple subscribers (employees MSISDNs) on the VPN platform under the same Corporate account and in so doing create a virtual Private Network for these subscribers. My Colleagues (VPN) will provide Corporate Customers the ability to choose specific VPN features they want activated on their VPN account. Introduction of this service into a company enables communication among all employees by mobile phones, as if they were extensions. A VPN provides corporate customers with basic functionalities such as Private Numbering plan.

GSM DATA:

  1. Messenger: MTN messenger offers a cost effective SMS tariff plan that caters for the needs of corporations and organisations using Short Message Service (SMS) based applications or customers using a high (bulk) volume of text messages
  2. Leased Line Capacity Service:
  3. SMPP Bind (Short Message Peer to Peer Protocol): This protocol service allows SMS to connect from customer’s switch to MTNN Network (SMS Gateway). The customer must have a link into the MTNN Network to enable this service.

  4. Blackberry: BlackBerry® is the leading wireless communications solution for enterprises that keeps mobile professionals connected to their customers, colleagues and internal data. The BlackBerry smartphone is a handheld device which supports push e-mail, mobile telephony, text messaging, web browsing and business applications to MTN customers on the move. The data services are delivered over MTN’s GPRS network.
  5. Enhanced Fax & Data: The enhanced fax and data service is a facility of the GSM network that enables subscribers to receive data calls and fax calls from all other numbers. In order to receive these calls, subscribers would need to two additional numbers apart from the current MSISDN (used for voice calls). These numbers would be added to the existing Sim so that the subscriber has 3 numbers on one Sim. One of the numbers would be for fax while the other would be for data. These numbers are separate and distinct from the initial MSISDN.
  6. Vehicle Tracking and Fleet Management: The Vehicle Tracking & Fleet Management Service offers minute by minute information on vehicles, containers or inventory for easy recovery in case of theft and for effective fleet management.

GSM INTERNET

  1. XtraValue Data Only: The GSM data only plan which has voice blocked on the SIM. A subscriber is able to insert the SIM into a device and browse the Internet on a pay as you use basis or purchase a monthly data bundle plan.
  2. MTN Fastlink: The FastLink Data Card and USB Modems are high speed hardware modems that slot into the PCMCIA slot or USB port to allow customers access to the 3.5G Network to browse the Internet, send and receive, upload and download data on a laptop, notebook or PC.
