About The Fraud Unit


The subscriber fraud unit is responsible for preventing, detecting and managing incidents of fraud by MTN subscribers. The unit undertakes public enlightenment and fraud awareness for staff that interfaces with subscribers.

The Forensic Unit of the Business Risk Management Department is tasked with the responsibility of preventing, detecting and managing incidents of fraud within MTN Nigeria involving its employees and/ or contractors and suppliers. The Unit carries out its responsibilities through its employees and contractors’ awareness programs, anti fraud programs campaigns, extensive fraud risk assessments which are geared towards minimizing fraud and its effects.

Both units also advices the Organization on issues of fraud, liaises with the appropriate internal stakeholders and with Government Anti-Fraud agencies where applicable.

Business Fraud

MTN Nigeria aims to promote a culture of integrity and honesty amongst its employees and to display transparency in its dealings with suppliers and contractors. The Forensic Unit in support of these values, is actively engaged in the fight to eliminate fraud and to ensure that employees and suppliers behave with the highest standard of integrity and honesty. The Forensic Unit deals mainly with cases involving MTN employees (permanent, temporary or contract staffs) and in some cases, suppliers or contractors.
