WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) bridges the gap between the mobile world and the Internet, giving mobile subscribers the ability to access a wealth of information from a pocket-sized device without the need for a computer.

The MLife WAP service provides access to local and international WAP content from any WAP enabled GSM device. MLife WAP offers an easy-to-use and highly portable communications and information tool. MLife 2.0 is the new version of the WAP Service for MTN provided by MTech Nigeria Ltd.

The following are some of the services available on MLife 2.0

Email Provides access to a host of e-mail portals like Yahoo and Onebox
Football Contains news, results and fixtures on UK Premiership, La Liga.
Jokes Offers a daily dose of Naija or Oyinbo Jokes.
News a) BBC News: International news as it happens.
(b) Financial Standard: Daily headlines on financial issues across the world
(c) MLife News: local news which covers business, politics, sports and entertainments
Polyphonic Ringtones Get a FREE polyphonic ringtone sample on this site.
Business Events Offers information on events like seminars, symposiums and workshops.
Flight Manager This contains all domestic flight schedules. You can check the available flight for your favourite airline at the press of a button, anywhere and anytime.
Cinema Listings Contains information on movies showing at Silverbird Cinemas


To use WAP you will need a WAP enabled phone that has been configured accordingly. There is no subscription charge for WAP and calls to the WAP gateway are charged as normal calls (voice tariff applies).

WAP ENABLED HANDSETS
Most new handsets in the market are WAP enabled. Please consult the user guide or manufacturer’s website to determine if your handset is WAP enabled or call the WAP help-line number 08032092013. There is no subscription charge for WAP and calls to the WAP gateway are charged as normal calls (voice tariff applies).

HANDSET CONFIGURATION FOR MLIFE WAP SERVICE
In order to use the Mlife WAP service, you have to configure your handset accordingly. Configuration can be done either manually or automatically (OTA) (see below). Please refer to the WAP brochure or visit our Friendship Centre for more information.

Automatic configuration for Mlife WAP Service
Automatic configuration is only limited to selected Nokia and Ericsson mobile handsets and calls to the configuration numbers are charged a flat rate of N100. Users of Nokia and Ericsson handsets listed below can activate WAP automatically by calling into the corresponding automatic configuration numbers. The call will terminate after a few seconds and you will receive an sms with the appropriate configuration.

Note: Not all handsets support automatic configuration. MTech/MTN cannot be held responsible for any lost or changed settings that occur during the configuration process.
