MTNF Youth Skills Development Project (MTNF YSDP)

The MTNF YSDP which is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative is designed to upgrade 6 selected existing government technical/vocational colleges across the country on a pilot basis through the provision of cutting-edge equipment for up-to-date training and development of craftsmen, technicians and artisans. The initiative aims to improve the technical skills of Nigerian youths towards socio ¿ economic development and self- reliance.
MTN Foundation believes that the development of technical and vocational education is one of the strategies that will enable Nigeria to become industrialised.
The foundation placed advertorials (Expressions of Interest) in the newspapers inviting interested technical/vocational colleges across the country to apply.  About 32 responses (applications) were received from various technical/vocational colleges.  After thorough and objective screening process, 11 colleges were short-listed as prospective beneficiaries of the project.  Verification visits to the short listed colleges were done to select the final 6 beneficiary colleges.
