Now you can share your credit with friends and family or make quick money selling credit from your phone with Share ‘n’ Sell. It is free and easy to use.
Share ‘n Sell allows you to send credit from your prepaid account to another MTN customer's prepaid account using SMS or USSD. That way, you can keep your family and friends topped up and connected! In addition, transferring credit does not cost you anything!
To make sure that nobody uses your phone to transfer credit without your permission, we have added a PIN feature. Before you can transfer credit, you have to change the default PIN which is 0000.
You can change the default PIN by:
Sending a USSD command
Sending a text message to 777
With Share ‘n Sell, you can transfer different amounts of credit with a minimum amount of NGN50.00 and a maximum amount of NGN6,000.00 for each transaction. You can also transfer a total amount of NGN50,000.00 a day! So you can even decide to become a credit vendor using Share 'n Sell!!!
You can only transfer credit in Naira amounts and not in kobo i.e. you can transfer NGN71.00 but not NGN71.99.
If your MTN prepaid account does not have enough credit to cover the amount you have requested to transfer, the transaction will not be completed and you will receive an error message
All SMS and USSD for transferring credit using Share ‘n Sell are free of charge – only the amount that you want to transfer is deducted from your account.
You can change your PIN using SMS like this:
» Send a text message to 777: default_PIN New_PIN New_PIN e.g. 0000 1234 1234
» When the default PIN has been changed to you new PIN, you will receive a message informing you that your PIN was changed successfully
You can transfer credit using SMS like this:
Send a text message to 777: Transfer Recipient’s_Number Amount PIN e.g. Transfer 08031234567 1500 1234
You will receive a message asking you to confirm that you want to make the transfer
To confirm the transfer, text YES to 777
When the transfer has been completed, you will receive a message informing you that the transfer was successful
You can change your PIN using USSD like this:
Dial *601*default_PIN*New_PIN*New_PIN# Send/Ok e.g.*601*0000*1234*1234# Send/Ok
When the default PIN has been changed to you new PIN, you will receive a message informing you that your PIN was changed successfully
You can transfer credit using USSD like this:
Dial *600*Recipient’s_Number*Amount*PIN# e.g. *600*08031234567*1500*1234#
When the transfer has been completed, you will receive a message informing you that the transfer was successful

Family & Friends is a special service to you ONLY if you are on XtraConnect.
With Family & Friends, you can register up to 4 numbers as your Family & Friends numbers for free. When you make calls to these numbers, you get a 50% discount on the total cost of the call.
However, you will be charged at normal XtraConnect rates for calls to numbers that you do not register as your Family & Friends numbers. Also you will be charged at normal XtraConnect rates for calls to all other networks..
If you are on XtraCool, XtraPro, or XtraSpecial, you will not be able to use Family & Friends service. So, if you migrate to XtraCool, XtraPro, or XtraSpecial, you will not be able to use the Family & Friends service.
However, as soon as you move back to XtraConnect (by texting 700 to 131), you will once again be able to enjoy your 50% discount to your registered Family & Friends numbers.
To register your Family & Friends numbers:

You will receive a message that you have successfully registered your selected FaF number
To register your first 4 Family & Friends number is free!
But if you choose to register a new FaF number, you will have to de-register one of the existing numbers and then you can register the new number. This new registration costs NGN50.00.

You will receive a message that you have successfully de-registered your selected FaF number
To de-register any of your FaF numbers is free!
To view your FaF numbers:

You will see all your FaF numbers immediately

MTN Prepaid Roaming
MTN Prepaid Roaming allows you (MTN prepaid customer) make and receive calls, and send and receive SMS messages while away from their home networks. This service however exists ONLY for countries in which MTN Nigeria has roaming agreements with one or more operators, and who have a compatible network platform.
The MTN 123 service complements MTN Direct Roaming when you are roaming on networks that only support Call Back. On Call Back networks, you can make calls, receive calls, and send SMS. On Call Back networks, however, you cannot send SMS.
Introducing MTN Prepaid Roaming
Reaching home from anywhere in the world With MTN Prepaid Roaming, you can reach you friends and family in Nigeria when you travel out of the country. Our prepaid roaming service will allow you make and receive calls and send and receive SMS while you are out of Nigeria. And to ensure that you are always within reach, we are offering our valued prepaid customers 2 ways to make roaming calls:

- MTN 123 Call Back Roaming
Activation
- To use the service, you have to activate the service by sending “ACTIVATE” to 7626 at least 24 hours before you travel out of Nigeria
- For the service to be activated, you must have a minimum of NGN5,000.00 in your airtime account
- The SMS to activate the service is free
Usage
- To use the service, you simply switch on your phone on arrival at your destination country
- If MTN Nigeria has signed a roaming agreement with any network in the destination country, your phone will pick up the network of the roaming partner.

Making Calls
- Using MTN Direct Roaming
- When you are overseas and wish to call Nigeria, simply dial the Nigerian international access code, 009 or + , and then the number you want to call
- To call a friend in Nigeria whose phone number is 0803 1234567 using MTN Direct Roaming, simply dial +234 803 1234567
. To call other countries besides Nigeria (e.g. UK), dial +44 208 1234567
- Using MTN 123
- When you are overseas and wish to call Nigeria or any other countries, you simply dial *123*, followed by the country code, phone number and the # key.
- To call a friend in Nigeria whose phone number is 0803 123456, dial *123*0803 1234567#
. To call other countries besides Nigeria (e.g. UK): *123*+44 208 1234567#
- You can also dial your number using the following number formats:

- Your call will be disconnected and the network will then initiate a call back to your MTN Nigeria number within 10 seconds
- When your phone rings, answer the call and you will automatically be connected to the person that you called
- If the party is unavailable, the call will be disconnected after 5 rings. You will not be billed for unsuccessful calls
Call rates
- You will be charged for making voice calls and receiving voice calls while you are roaming
- You will also be charged for sending and receiving SMS calls (With MTN 123, you will not be able to send SMS)
- The rates at which you will be charged for voice calls and SMS will depend on the networks on which you are roaming on
- Calls will be charged per minute
- Off peak and peak rates will not apply
- You will remain on your original plan while roaming
- However, if you are on a plan that expires to XtraConnect, then you plan will expire to XtraConnect as normal
- You will not be able to migrate to any other plan while you are roaming
Recharging
- While roaming, you will be able to recharge/top-up your account with normal physical and logical MTN recharge cards using the *555*1*12 digit PIN#

- You will also be able to recharge by MTN e-charge and MTN Share ‘n Sell
Renewing
- You may request that your roaming service be renewed by sending an SMS
- Simply send the word “RENEW” to 7626 (With MTN 123, you will not be able to send SMS)
