These Terms and Conditions are specific to the MTN Back-up service ("the Service") and are in addition to Post-paid and Pre-paid terms and conditions and any other terms and conditions that apply to other MTN services that you use. These Terms & Conditions may be amended without prior notice and at any time.
You will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions when you use the Service. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, DO NOT PROCEED WITH THE REGISTRATION PROCESS
Definitions and Interpretation
For the purpose of these terms "We", "Us" and "Our" means MTN NIGERIA COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED. "You", or "Your" refers to you, the customer and user of the MTN Back-up service provided by MTN.

Please note you must have an MTN Nigeria SIM Card that contains the MTN Back-up service on it to enjoy this Service.
When you choose the MTN Back-up service in the MTN Services menu on your handset, you will be asked whether or not you wish to perform a back up synchronization. "Back Up Synchronization" means the copying of contact details from your SIM Card or handset to your dedicated MTN Back Up webpage.
Your backed up information is accessible on the site www.mtnonline.com/products-services/value-added-services/mtn-backup using your username and assigned password. It is therefore a requirement of the Service that you are a registered user.
You may after requesting your first Back-up synchronization carry out additional updates to your Web Phonebook by going into the MTN SIM Menu or the WAP menu on your handset and requesting additional synchronizations.
The first time you use the Service you will be charged the sum of N100. Thereafter if you request an additional synchronization you will be charged N50 Naira.
These are billed via Premium Rated SMS.
MTN will make all reasonable endeavours to ensure that the Service provided is of the highest quality and is available as often as possible. However, you acknowledge and agree that access to the Service, may from time to time be unavailable for any reason, including without limitation, interruption to network connectivity, network and server outages, and/or backup and maintenance.
Limitation of Liability
You are responsible for all contact details that you store or synchronize using the MTN Backup Service. Additionally, in the event that you leave the MTN network all of your contact details stored on your Web Phonebook will be deleted and you will no longer be able to access them. Neither does MTN exercise control over the contact details stored using the Service. MTN accepts no liability whatsoever for your contact details stored using the Service.
At any time and without prior notice, MTN, at its discretion may terminate, suspend or discontinue, any or all parts of the Service.
Any new features introduced from time to time to augment or enhance the Service shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions. This Agreement is governed by the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
