Mr. Dennis Okoro had a distinguished career in Federal Ministry of Education. He retired in 1996. He held various positions in the public service; as Adviser, Primary Education, Director, Federal Inspectorate Services and Director Educational Support Services.
In retirement, he rendered his services at various times, as a Consultant to a number of National and International Organisations among which were UNESCO, DFID, UNICEF, The World Bank, Commonwealth Secretariat, London and the British Council. He also through his Educational Consultancy Services worked with many African Countries in the Commonwealth and some State Governments in Nigeria.
In this capacity he collaborated as a member, BC/WB/DFID Technical Support Team that assisted States like Ebonyi, Ekiti and Kwara as well as Kaduna and Kano to prepare their Education Sector Plans (ESP), 2006.
In collaboration with the British Council, Nigeria, Mr. Okoro played a prominent part as one of the Educational Consultants that reviewed and re-structured the Federal Ministry of Education Inspectorate Services in 2005.
Mr. Dennis Okoro is a Fellow of the Nigeria Academy of Education and currently, a member of its Executive Committee.
