MTNF ICT and Business Skills Training Programme for Youth
The MTNF ICT & Business Skills Training initiative aims at building the capacity of the youths (18 – 35 years) in ICT and Business Skills towards enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial abilities. The training program is implemented in partnership with some MTN Ecosystem partners (Oracle, Google, KPMG, IBM and Digital Bridge Institute)
The initiative, which is in its third phase, aligns with the MTNF’s Youth Empowerment cause and has supported the Government’s efforts at promoting sustainable socio-economic development in Nigeria, and to date has recorded 1,933 young people trained across five states (i.e. Oyo, Kano, Imo, Nasarawa and Rivers States).
Over 1,930 youths have participated in the training program. The short-term impact assessment revealed that some of the trained participants have gone on to set up their own businesses using the skills taught at the training.
Youths in the following states have benefitted from this program: Oyo, Kano, Nasarawa, Imo, and Rivers. MTNF plan to extend this intervention to other states in Nigeria
It is in alignment with the following SDGs:
- SDG1-No Poverty.
- SDG2-Zero Hunger.
- SDG8-Decent Work and Economic Growth.
- SDG9-Industry Innovation and Infrastructure.
- SDG4-Reduced Inequalities.
