MoreTime

MoreTime is an on-demand loan service that allows you to take airtime and/or data loan at 0% when you run out of airtime and payback on your next recharge. You will also get an additional 400% airtime bonus on airtime loaned ONLY and not on Data BUT you will only pay back the face value of the loaned amount.

You can check if you are eligible for MoreTime service by dialing *605#.

 

How to borrow MoreTime

Once you have confirmed that you are eligible for the service, you can then follow either of the below steps to borrow airtime or data:

 

Borrowing via *605# Menu:

  • Dial *605#
  • Select your preferred amount or data bundle from the menu.
  • After selecting your preferred amount, the system will then send you a message with the amount or data bundle you are about to borrow.
  • Once you confirm your transaction, the system will credit your MoreTime airtime account with 5 TIMES the airtime amount loaned BUT 5% of the loaned Airtime is allocated for local SMS BUT if it is a data loan, the system will credit your MoreTime Data account with the loaned data volume.
  • Fee + applicable service charge will be debited from your main account on your next recharge.

Note: 5% of MoreTime airtime loaned will be allocated for SMS ONLY.

Q. What is MTN MoreTime?

A. MoreTime is an on-demand loan service that allows customers take airtime and/or data loan at 0% when you run out of airtime and pay back on your next recharge. You will also get additional 400% airtime bonus on airtime loaned ONLY and not on Data BUT you will only pay back the face value of the loaned amount.


Q. Is MTN MoreTime available to all customers?

A. No, MTN MoreTime is available to ONLY Prepaid customers that are eligible for XtraTime service.


Q. What are the eligibility criteria?

A. To be eligible for MoreTime service, you MUST:

    1. Be a Prepaid customer.
    2. Have registered your number.
    3. Have been on the MTN network for more than 6 months.
    4. Have spent at least N200 monthly for 6 months.
    5. Have between N0 and N75 in your main account.
    6. Paid up any outstanding XtraTime or MoreTime loan request.
    7. Have available Credit Limit

Q. How can I check if I am eligible for the service?

A. You can check if you are eligible for MoreTime service by,

    • USSD – Dial *605#.
    • SMS – Send respective Airtime or Data SMS keywords to 605 (captured on the MoreTime summary table below.)
    • Interactive Voice Response (IVR) – Dial 605 then follow the prompt to select your preferred Moretime.

Q. How do I borrow MoreTime?

A. Simple. Once you have confirmed that you are eligible for the service, you can then follow either of the below steps to borrow airtime or data:

2. Interactive Voice Response (IVR)

    • Dial 605
    • Select your preferred language (English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa or Pidgin).
    • Select your preferred amount or data bundle from the IVR menu.
    • After selecting your preferred amount, the system will then send you a message with the amount or data bundle you are about to borrow.
    • Once you confirm your transaction, the system will credit your MoreTime airtime account with 5 TIMES the airtime amount loaned BUT 5% of the loaned Airtime is allocated for local SMS BUT if it is data loan, the system will credit your MoreTime Data account with the loaned data volume.
    • The system will then debit your main account with the loaned airtime or data amount and then send you a successful notification message.

3. SMS

    •  Text the SMS code to 605. (See codes on MoreTime table below)
    • The system will credit your MoreTime airtime account with 5 TIMES the airtime amount loaned BUT 5% of the loaned Airtime is allocated for local SMS BUT if it is data loan, the system will credit your MoreTime Data account with the loaned data volume.
    • The system will then debit your main account with the loaned airtime or data amount and then send you a successful notification message.

Examples: If you borrow N25, you will receive N125 but N118.75 will be credited into your MoreTime airtime account and N6.25 (5% of N125) into MoreTime SMS account and you will only pay back N25.


Q. What are the different airtime bands available on MoreTime?

A. The available airtime bands on MoreTime are:

    • N25
    • N50
    • N100
    • N200
    • N400
    • N500
    • N750
    • N1000
    • N1500
    • N2000
    • N3000
    • N5000

Q. What are the different data bands available on MoreTime?

A. The available data bands on MoreTime are:

    • 60MB at N100, valid for 24hrs
    • 750MB at N300, valid for 24hrs
    • 600MB at N500, valid for 14 days
    • 1.2GB at N1000, valid for 30days

Q. How much will I be charged for using MTN MoreTime?

A. You will not be charged any service fee when you request for MoreTime airtime or data.


Q. Will the airtime I borrowed be loaded into my main account after successful requests?

A. No, the airtime borrowed will be credited into your MoreTime airtime account and the data borrowed will be credited into your MoreTime data account.


Q. How can I check my MoreTime account balance?

A. You can check your MoreTime account balance in the following ways.

    • From the *605# menu, select ‘My Account’ then select ‘2’ to view your account balance.
    • From SMS: Text Balance to 605.
    • From IVR: Dial 605 then select ‘Check your MoreTime balance’ from the announcement.

Q. Can I borrow airtime if I have an existing airtime loan to pay back?

A. Yes, you can borrow another MoreTime even if you have an existing Moretime loan to pay back as long as you are still within your credit limit.


Q. Will I be able to borrow airtime or data multiple times within my credit limit?

A. Yes, you will be able to borrow MoreTime airtime or data multiple times as long as you are within your credit limit.


Q. Will the same credit limit on XtraTime be applicable on MoreTime?

A. Yes, the same credit limit on XtraTime will be applicable on MoreTime.

Example: If your Total Credit Limit is N750 and you have loaned N400 on XtraTime, you will able to loan up to N350 ONLY on MoreTime.


Q. Can I exceed my credit limit in a month?

A. No, you cannot exceed your credit limit in a month. However, your credit limit in a month can either increase or decrease but this is based on your recharge and chargeable activities in the previous months.


Q. How will I pay back the airtime I borrowed?

A. You will be able to pay back any outstanding amount by recharging via physical recharge, logical recharge, AccessYelloAccount (AYA), MTN OnDemand, airtime received from a friend through MTN Share or received airtime through any other means.


Q. Can I view my transaction history?

A. Yes, you will be able to view your transaction history by dialling *605#, then select ‘History’ from the menu or by simply sending ‘History’ to 605 via SMS.


Q. Will the MoreTime airtime borrowed expire?

A. Yes, the MoreTime has a validity of 30 days after which ALL unused MoreTime airtime will be cleared after expiry and will NOT rollover.


Q. Will the MoreTime data borrowed have an expiry date/validity?

A. The validity of the data bundle is based on data bundle selected.

Q. Will the MoreTime data borrowed auto renew after expiry?

A. The data borrowed will NOT renew after expiry.


Q. Will I be able to transfer airtime from my MoreTime account to another customer’s account?

A. No, you will NOT be able to transfer airtime from your MoreTime account via MTN Share service or any other means to another customer’s account.


Q. Can I use the MoreTime airtime or data while roaming?

A. No. You will not be able use the MoreTime airtime or data to roam. You will also not be able to use it for the following activities below:

    • Roaming Voice/SMS/Data
    • International SMS
    • Data bundle purchase
    • Digital/VAS subscriptions

Q. What MTNN services can I use with the airtime in my MoreTime account?

A. The MoreTime airtime borrowed will be used for the following chargeable activities on the MTNN network, including but not limited to:

    • National calls
    • National SMS
    • PAYGO Data
    • International call to 10 select destinations

Q. At what rate will my calls, SMS, data and other services be charged from my MoreTime account?

A. The applicable rates for the eligible services are as follows:

    • National calls @ N41.28/min
    • National SMS @ N4/SMS
    • PAYGO Data @ N19/MB
    • International call to 10 select destinations @ N66.35/min.

The 10 eligible international destinations are:

    1. Canada
    2. China
    3. Denmark
    4. Norway
    5. India
    6. Ireland
    7. Malaysia
    8. Romania
    9. South Korea
    10. United States

NOTE: When you have an airtime in your MoreTime airtime account and enough airtime in your main account or XtraTime account, your call charges will be charged first from the MoreTime account but once the airtime is exhausted, charges will then be taken from your other bonus/bundle account, if any otherwise it will be from your XtraTime /Main account.

However, if you are on YanfunYanfun or Beta talk tariff plan, your first call in a day will still be charged from the main account before your MoreTime airtime account or any other bonus/bundle account.


Q. Will I be able to call after I exhaust the airtime?

A. No, your call will be suspended once you exhaust the airtime unless you have airtime/minute bonus in your dedicated account that is still active or have airtime in your main account.


Q. Will I be able to browse after I exhaust the data?

A. No, your data activities will be suspended once you exhaust the data bundle unless you have other data bundle/bonus in your dedicated account that is still active or opted in for PAYG and data charges taken from your main account.


Q. What happens when the amount recharged is not enough to pay back the airtime amount borrowed completely?

A. When the recharge amount is less than the loaned amount, the amount recharged will be used to reduce the amount you borrowed but your main account will still be in negative of the remaining loan amount. But subsequent recharges will be used to recover whatever is outstanding until the loan is fully recovered.


Q. What happens when the amount recharged is more than the airtime amount borrowed?

A. When the recharge amount is greater than the outstanding airtime amount, the airtime amount recharged will be used to clear the loan amount and the balance will then be credited into your main account.


Q. What happens when I recharge using a different recharge code, e.g. AWUF4U, instead of the standard recharge code, *555*…?

A. In cases where you recharge using a different recharge code, e.g. AWUF4U, the MoreTime credit borrowed will be deducted from the amount recharged then the balance or any associated bonus will be loaded into their respective dedicated accounts.


Q. Can I pay back the MoreTime airtime borrowed via MTN Share?

A. Yes, any airtime received or recharged via any channel can be used to pay off any outstanding MoreTime loan.


Q. Can I pay back the airtime borrowed using the airtime bonus in any of my bonus account?

A. No, you cannot use any airtime in your airtime bonus account to offset the airtime borrowed.
