How To Activate XtraValue Carte Bundle

To subscribe to any of the XtraValue Carte bundles follow these steps:

  • Launch the myMTN App
  • Click on “Bundle” and select “Build Your Bundles”
  • Choose from a rich bouquet of voice, data, IDD and roaming bundles

Once you are successful, you will be automatically migrated to XtraValue Carte plan and your bundle account will be credited with the bundle elements.

Q. What is MTN XtraValue Carte Plan?

A. MTN XtraValue Carte tariff Plan is a plan that allows you the flexibility to mix and match your bundles from a rich bouquet of National, international, Roaming Voice & Data services to form a personalized bundle after subscribing to any XtraValue Carte bundles.


Q. Who can activate MTN XtraValue Carte?

A. All MTN Prepaid and Post-paid customers can activate the XtraValue Carte bundles. However, after purchase of XtraValue Carte bundles ONLY prepaid customers will be migrated to the XtraValue Carte plan BUT with the customer’s consent, WHILE post-paid customers will be able to enjoy the bundles while on their respective plans.


Q. Why should I purchase the XtraValue Carte Bundles?

A. You will enjoy the flexibility of mixing and matching any of the below bundles;

    • Voice Bundle (National On-net and Off-net calls/SMS)
    • Data Bundle (Browsing all websites)
    • IDD Bundle (10 selected international destinations listed on the table below)
    • Roaming Voice Bundle (Voice/SMS)
    • Roaming Data Bundle (Browsing all websites)

Details of the airtime and data allocated for each bundle are highlighted in the table


Q. How do I migrate the XtraValue Carte plan?

A. Simply subscribe to any of the XtraValue Carte bundles by the following steps:

    • Launch the MyMTN App.
    • Click on “Bundle” and select “Build Your Bundles”.
    • Choose from a rich bouquet of voice, data, IDD and roaming bundles.

Once you have successfully purchased the XtraValue Carte bundles, you will be automatically migrated to XtraValue Carte plan and your bundle account will be credited with the bundle elements.

Note: If you are a post-paid customer, you will not be migrated to XtraValue Carte plan. You will be able to enjoy the bundle from your tariff plan.


Q. Which countries are in the eligible international destinations?

A. The 10 eligible countries are:

Q. I just bought a new number and migrated from YafunYafun to XtraValue Carte BUT I was charged from my Activation Bonus account for Call, SMS & Data. What does this mean?

A. Yes, you will now receive N500 activation bonus on your new number after you register and activate the number.


Q. When will I be able to use the N500 Activation bonus on my new number?

A. You will be able to use the N500 activation bonus on your new number once you perform a chargeable activity from your main account (Calls, SMS, data activities SMS, bundle activation etc.)


Q. What activities can I perform with the N500 Activation bonus?

A. You will be able to perform National calls, SMS and data from the N500 activation bonus as follows:

    • N400 for National Voice calls & SMS.
    • N100 for ALL data activities.

Q. How long will I be able to use the N500 Activation bonus?

A. The N500 Activation bonus will be valid for 7 days from the date of SIM activation BUT unused bonus will be cleared after 7days.


Q. How many times can I get the N500 Activation bonus?

A. You will receive the N500 Activation bonus ONCE after buying and registering a new MTN line.


Q. If I migrate to another tariff plan with my N500 Activation bonus, will I still be able to use it?

A. Yes, you will still be able to use the N500 Activation bonus when you migrate to another tariff plan as long as the bonus has not expired.

Q. I just noticed an option to choose either One-off or the Auto-renew option when activating the XtraValue Carte bundle. What does this mean?

A. This feature allows you to set your XtraValue Carte bundle on One-off or Auto-renew purchase:

    • One-Off Purchase means that your XtraValue Carte bundle will NOT auto-renew after expiry.
    • Auto-renewal purchase means your XtraValue Carte bundle will auto-renew after expiry.

Note: For one-off purchase, your XtraValue Carte Bundle will NOT renew automatically after exhausting the bundle element or on expiry of the bundle.

For Auto-renewal purchase, your XtraValue Carte Bundle will renew automatically after exhausting the bundle element or on expiry of the bundle.


Q. If my XtraValue Carte bundle is on the One-off option, will I be able to opt in for the Auto-renew option or renew the bundle?

A. Yes, you will be able to opt in for Auto-renewal or renew the bundles by the following steps;

    • Launch MYMTNAPP
    • Click on “My Subscription”
    • Select the Auto-renewal button to turn on auto-renewal.

However, you will ONLY be able to opt in for Auto-renewal on ALL bundles and NOT select bundles in your Carte.

Please note that you will NOT be able to opt-in for Auto-renewal on the Roaming Voice and Data bundles.


Q. Will I be able to opt out of auto-renewal any time?

A. Yes, you will be able to opt out of Auto-renewal or cancel auto-renewal by the following steps;

    • Launch MYMTNAPP
    • Click on “My Subscription”
    • Select the button to cancel auto-renewal.

Please note that you will ONLY be able to cancel Auto-renewal on ALL bundles and NOT individual bundles in your Carte.


Q. What happens when I cancel auto-renewal on my Carte bundles?

A. Once you cancel auto-renewal on your Carte bundles, the bundles will not be renewed but your Calls, SMS and Data will be charged from your main account or any active bonus account after your bundle has expired.


Q. How much will I be charged for migrating into XtraValue Carte plan?

A. You will NOT be charged the migration fee of N100 while migrating into XtraValue Carte plan after subscribing to Carte bundles, only the Carte bundle fee will be deducted.


Q. How much will I be charged for migrating out of XtraValue Carte plan?

A. Your first migration out of XtraValue Carte plan in a month will not be charged BUT for subsequent migration out of the plan within same month, you will be charged N100.


Q. Will I be able to purchase the XtraValue Cate bundle from any tariff plan?

A. Yes, you will be able to purchase any XtraValue Carte bundle while on any tariff plan but as soon as the subscription is completed, you will be automatically migrated to XtraValue Carte plan if you are on a prepaid plan.


Q. Will my expired bundle be auto renewed even if I am not on XtraValue Carte Plan?

A. No, your bundle will not renew while you are on another tariff plan.


Q. Will I be able to buy ONLY one type of bundle multiple times?

A. No. You can’t buy ONLY one type of bundle. However, you can buy multiple bundles but a minimum of two bundles types.


Q. How many bundle can I buy on my MTN XtraValue Carte?

A. You can buy up to five (5) bundles in your cart. However, only a MINIMUM of two (2) different bundles can be purchased at once.


Q. How much will I pay for activating MTN XtraValue Carte?

A. Each of the XtraValue Carte bundles cost N1000. However, a minimum of two (2) different bundles must be selected per purchase.

Example:

    • If you purchase the Voice, IDD and Data bundle. You will be charged N1000 for each of the 3 bundles totalling N3000. (i.e. Voice Bundle at N1000, IDD bundle at N1000 & Data bundle at N1,000).

Q. Will I be allowed to purchase multiple of the same bundles or different bundles at once?

A. Yes, you will be able to purchase multiple of the same bundle and or different bundles at ONCE. BUT you will NOT be able to buy another bundle until the bundles have expired. However, you will be able to top-up your bundle when it has exhausted.

For example, you can purchase, 2 Voice bundles, 1 Data bundle and 2 IDD bundles at once. But you will NOT be able to buy another bundle until it has expired. However you can top up your data bundle or IDD bundle when you have used up to 90% or when you have exhausted the bundle.


Q. Will I be able to use my active XtraValue bundle after migrating to the XtraValue Carte plan?

A. Yes, you will be able to use your active XtraValue bundle after migrating to the XtraValue Carte plan. However, the bundle with the shortest validity will be used first before moving to other bundles.

Please note that your XtraValue bundle will NOT auto-renew when you are on the XtraValue Carte plan but will expire after expiry.


Q. If I exhaust any of the bundle elements before expiry/Auto-renewal, will I be able to top up my bundle?

A. Yes, if any of the bundles are exhausted (or used up to 90% of the volume), you will be able to ‘Top-up’ the bundle by selecting ‘Top-up Bundle’ on the MyMTN App.

Please note you will NOT be able to top-up your roaming bundles.


Q. How can I check my XtraValue Carte balance?

A. You can check your XtraValue Carte main balance, bundle balance and bundle expiry by:

    • Logging into MyMTN App
    • Dialing *556#
    • Dialing *559*70#

Q. If I want to buy multiple times on all of the five (5) bundles together, will I be allowed?

A. Yes. You can buy multiple bundles on all of the five bundles if you have sufficient airtime to buy.


Q. What happens if I exhaust my XtraValue Carte Voice bundle and I continue making calls without topping up the Carte voice bundle?

A. If you exhaust your Carte Voice bundle and continue making calls without topping up a new voice bundle. You will be charged from your main account at 20k/sec.


Q. What is the validity of the XtraValue Carte bundles?

A. The XtraValue Carte bundles are valid for 30 days while the Top up bundles are valid for 7 days from the date of activation.


Q. Will I lose all my XtraValue Carte bundle if I migrate to another tariff plan?

A. No, you will NOT lose your bundle(s) when you migrate out of the XtraValue Carte plan as long as the bundle is still within the validity BUT you will NOT be able to use the bundle except you buy new Carte bundles and migrate back to the XtraValue Carte plan.


Q. What happens when my XtraValue Carte bundles are due for Auto-renewal and I ONLY have airtime to renew one (1) of the bundles?

A. If your XtraValue Carte bundles are due for Auto-renewal and you only have airtime to renew just one (1) of the bundles, NONE of the bundles will auto-renew.


Q. Will my unused bundle elements rollover when it renews?

A. Yes, your unused bundle elements will rollover if it auto-renews.


Q. Will I be able to enjoy other MTN Products, Services, Offers and Promotions while on XtraValue Carte Plan?

A. Yes, you will be able to enjoy all MTNN Products, Services, Offers and Promotions while on XtraValue Carte plan.


Q. What should I do to get the 10% airtime bonus on recharge?

A. You can get the 10% airtime Bonus on recharge when you recharge via the eligible recharge channels listed below:

  1. MTNOnDemand (*904#)
    • Bank Account option
    • Debit Card option
  2. MyMTN app
    • Bank Account option
    • Debit Card option
    • TopUp Card option.

Q. How long will I be able to use the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. The 10% Airtime bonus on recharge will be valid for 7 days BUT unused bonus will be cleared after 7days.


Q. Will I be able to share my 10% airtime bonus on recharge?

A. No. 10% Airtime bonus on recharge can’t be shared/transferred to another line.


Q. Will I get 10% Airtime bonus on recharge when I receive or send airtime via Share n Sell?

A. No. You will not get the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge when you receive or send airtime via Share n Sell.


Q. What activities can I perform with the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. You will be able to make local calls, send SMS and browse any website or app with the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge.


Q. How much will I be charged when using the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. Your 10% Airtime bonus on recharge will be charged first until it is exhausted and subsequent charges will be from your main account or any available voice bonus.


Q. How many times can I get the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. You will receive the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge for every recharge you make via the eligible channels.


Q. If I migrate to another tariff plan with my 10% Airtime bonus on recharge, will I still be able to use it?

A. Yes, you will still be able to use the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge when you migrate to another tariff plan as long as the bonus has not expired
